The Security Joint Task Force (JTF) on implementation of COVID-19 directives/guidelines has commended the leadership of Nakasero Market in Kampala for putting up a number of preventive measures against the spread of COVID-19.
The JTF specifically recognizes the partitioning of the market area in a bid to ensure social distance necessary for preventing the spread of COVID-19.
They however, observes that there are still a number of people who do not observe the recommended social distance at the market and should be compelled to comply with the 4meter distance on all sides as issued by the President of the Republic of Uganda.
“The JTF appeals to all the market leaders such as those of Kawempe, Usafi and Kalerwe Markets where there has been evidence of overcrowding to use their positions of leadership and show responsibility by enforcing all the safety guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health to protect the people from infection by the Corona Virus. “
Members of the public have also been asked to consider observing social distancing to remain safe from Corona Virus infection and limiting chances of contracting the destructive virus and transmitting to their families.

Said in a joint statement, that Security Forces are looking forward to working together with the people to ensure that together they can defeat COVID-19 in Uganda.
