Rescue teams in Kasese have retrieved the body of Private Lothorach Lokwang who was killed by floods in Bwera.
According to Captain Fredrick Sonko, the 222 Mountain Brigade spokesperson, Lokwang hails from Kotido District and is among eight people who were killed by floods after river Lhubiriha in Bwera burst its banks on Thursday last week.
Capt. Sonko says the body was recovered at Kamukumbi and has been transported to Bwera General Hospital for a postmortem.
UPDF is still on ground to recover the gun that Lokwang was carrying at the time he was swept away by the floods.
Sonko added that the UPDF is heading the rescue team to ensure that all bodies are retrieved.
Lt. Joe Walusimbi the Kasese RDC says they are hopeful that all persons who were buried by mudslides and washed away by floods will be recovered to be able to have a decent burial.
