Officers at Jinja Road Police Station are investigating a fatal accident that happened on Friday morning at around 7am in Lufula, Kampala.
Luke Owoyesigyire the deputy police spokesperson Kampala metropolitan area says eyewitnesses told police that the driver of motor vehicle registration number UBE 704E Fuso Fighter failed to stop and knocked the rider of a Bajaj Reg.No M/C UEV 697H killing him instantly.
The rider has been identified as Rajab Kasanya, 52, a resident of Kitezi. Investigations are ongoing to identify the driver who is on the run and have him arrested.
Both vehicle and motorcycle are parked at Jinja Road Police Station, while the deceased’s body has been conveyed to City Mortuary Mulago for a post mortem.
