Uganda Police Force has temporarily closed its headquarters in Naguru for the next 3 days to allow for the process of decontamination, fumigation and testing of personnel.

The move comes just a day after the Political Commissar Uganda Police, AIGP Asan Kasingye tested positive for COVID-19.

Fred Enanga revealed today that they tested all officers in Kampala and did not find any positive cases, but with increase in cases, all officers will be re-tested as they are a vulnerable group.

“On the possibility of having all officers country-wide tested, we have been working closely with the ministry of health and having random testing exercises ongoing in various places.

n Kampala Metropolitan, we had such incidents, you remember the incident in Isingiro, in Jinja, Masindi among others. The random testing exercise has been going on what we need to undertake with them is the possibility of having all police stations covered, because they are 1,600 of them” Enanga said.
He however noted that the exercise is too expensive.

AIGP Kasingye on Sunday announced through Twitter that he had tested positive for the disease.
