The Police in Kagadi district have launched investigations into circumstances under which a 58-year-old Primary school teacher committed suicide.
Stephen Kamar, the Kagadi District Police Commander identified the deceased as Dansan Twesime, a teacher at Nyamiti Primary school and a resident of Nyamiti Cell in Muhorro Town Council Kagadi district who allegedly committed suicide by hanging on Wednesday afternoon.
It is still unclear why Twesime committed suicide.
His lifeless body was discovered by locals hanging on a coffee tree near his home. According to his brother Aliru Basanya, they were shocked by the incident and are wondering why Twesime committed suicide because he did not have misunderstandings with anyone in the area.
One of Twesime’s colleagues and teacher at Nyamiti Primary school, Ruth Kekirungi says they have lost one of the senior teachers in the district who was preparing for retirement.
Kamar says police rushed to the scene, picked the body and conveyed it to Kagadi General Hospital mortuary for postmortem.
Locals against making quick decision of ending their lives in case they have any misunderstanding.
