The Police at Kawempe station are investigating circumstances underwhich three suspects escaped from lawful custody at Kawanda Police Post.
Asp Luke Owoyesigyire the Deputy PRO KMP says the incident happened on a Saturday 26th September 2020 at around 2:30am.
It is alleged the three suspects took a chance and pushed the window in the cells until it broke and escaped through it.
Three officers, who were on duty on that particular time, have since been arrested on allegations of neglect of duty. They are yet to be arraigned in courts of law.
One of the escapedes has been identified as Tumusiime Siraj. He was arrested on allegations of aggravated defilement.
The others are Micah Muzamir arrested on allegations of Burglary and theft and Faizo Carbon alias Atim Moses who was arrested on allegations of theft. Kawempe Police will also charge all the three with escaping from lawful custody.
Efforts are underway to have the suspects re arrested.
