At least five people are dead while many others were left injured following an accident during a cultural circumcision alias Kadodi procession at Nangara trading center in Kikholo town council in Bududa district.
According to eyewitnesses, accident occurred Wednesday evening around 7 pm when a Fuso truck registration number UAQ769T carrying cement from Bushika - Kholo - Bunamubi - Mbale road lost control rammed into a kadodi procession.
Bulucheke Sub County LC III chairperson Elisa Khawanga who was at the scene identified three of the deceased as Andrew Wekhola, Hajara Nabulo and Sharon Nandutu. Some of the survivors were rushed to Bududa hospital and White cross-clinic for treatment.
The accident was reportedly a result of a mechanical problem in the truck, since the truck driver tried hard to save lives but failed to control it.
