An 18-year-old girl in Agago district is in trouble for allegedly killing her colleague in a fight over a piece of African fabric locally known as Kitenge.
Jimmy Patrick Okema the Aswa River Region Police Spokesperson identified the suspect as Alice Laker. He explains that she reportedly beat up Vicky Ajalo her 17-year-old friend on Saturday afternoon at a water source in Lakee village in Omot Sub-county.
Ajalo died later on arrival at Omot Health Center III where locals had rushed her for treatment.
According to Okema, Laker accused Ajalo of stealing the Kitenge, which led to a fight. Laker overpowered Ajalo during the fight and beat her unconscious. She passed out moments later prompting residents to rush her to a nearby health facility where breathed her last.
Okema added that the suspect initially fled into hiding but police apprehended on Sunday afternoon and she is currently in custody at Patongo Central Police station as investigations are ongoing.
By press time, the deceased's body was still lying at Omot Health Center III morgue.
