Police in Nakaseke are searching for unknown assailants who burnt four family members to death. 

Steven Bamulasa 12, Christine Nakate 5, Gladys Nanyonjo 4 and their 85-year-old grandfather identified as Matia Lukwago Kabalega,all residents of Kiziba village in Nakaseke town council were killed by unknown people who broke into their house at around 1 am in the wee hours of Tuesday morning.

Sebastian Mpagi, the Kaziba Village LC I Chairperson, says the assailants doused the household items with fuel before torching them. The three minors suffocated to death before they burnt beyond recognition. 

Their grandfather was however hit by a falling door as while trying to flee the fire and fell on the ground where he burnt to death. Another child survived the fire by fleeing through a door that was destroyed by the thugs.

The Savannah Region Police Spokesperson Isah Ssemwogerere says that police officers were called and immediately rushed to the scene but found the people dead. 
The 14-year-old child who survived told police that narrated that she saw four men with jerrycans before they set the house on fire. So far, police has arrested two people to help with investigations.

According to Ssemwogerere, preliminary investigations indicate that arsonists were targeting Lukwago’s widow, Justine Namagembe whom they accused of practising witchcraft, but she was away for two days before the arson attack.
