Ugandans seeking to obtain driving permits come March 1st 2021, will go to Uganda Railways building at Nasser Road in Kampala.
The Ministry of Works and Transport sent out a public reminder about changes in issuance of driving permits over the weekend.
On March 1, 2021, a new company; the Uganda Security Printing Company (USPC) will be taking over from South African firm Face Technologies which has been operating from Kyambogo.
The company was supposed to hand over to Uganda Security Printing Company last year, but their contract was extended for an extra 6 months, up to end of February 2021.
This followed challenges faced by USPC due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The challenges that have affected USPC did not allow the company to readily take over.
USPC is expected to work in partnership with Veridos, a Germany company that produces integrated identity solutions.
