The Police in Kasese District have arrested one of their own for shooting his wife dead.
According to the regional police spokesperson for Rwenzori east ASP Nelson Tumushime, the fatal shooting happened in Burambira cell Kikongo ward, Rugendabara town council.
Tumushime identifies the suspect as Cpl. Serdick Nickson Kamara, attached to Rubirizi Central police station in Rubirizi district.
The suspect reportedly shot his wife 28-year-old Zureha Muhindo at around 6:00 PM killings her instantly after developing a misunderstanding.
Tumushime says they have already started investigations to establish details of the incident.
"True, we have arrested the officer for killing his wife, we have already launched our investigations into the incident to get more details,” Tumushime confirmed.
Residents say they heard gun shots emerging from the house and on reaching there, they found Muhindo lying in a pool of blood while the husband had escaped from the house.
The suspect believed his wife had allegedly been unfaithful to their relationship.
