Police at Nsangi are investigating circumstances under which two children were killed a fire outbreak on Friday.

Luke Owoyesigyire the KMP Deputy Police Spokesperson says that the incident happened today 21/05/2021 at around 7:00am in Nalumunye, kasenge Wakiso district.  

According to Owoyesigyire, it is alleged that one Hajji mwalimu Mwelinde Abdul karim a resident of the same area has been collecting children for Islamic teachings.

However, two children had been collected and were staying in one of the rooms that caught fire.

“Unfortunately, when fire gutted the room they were staying in, they couldn't survive. The deceased children whose bodies have been conveyed to city mortuary mulago have been identified as Hussein Lubega, 13 and Kabanda Hali, 17” Owoyesigyire said. 

Police are currently searching for Abdul karim who is currently on the run. Detectives were dispatched to the scene of crime and a match box was recovered andlater taken as an exhibit.  

Efforts are on to have Karim apprehended.
