Six Policemen and three suspects are nursing injuries at Katakwi General Hospital following an accident in Katakwi District.
East Kyoga Regional Police Spokesman, Oscar Greg Ageca says the accident occurred at Alera Trading Centre along Usuk road on Tuesday, after the Police Pick up Patrol Car Registration No. UP 8355 belonging to Katakwi Central Police Station overturned.
The incident happened when policemen had gone to pick the three suspects from Olale Police Post and were being transferred to Katakwi Police Station.
Ageca says the patrol car swerved off the road after a tyre burst and overturned several times. The injured were rushed to Katakwi General Hospital.
Meanwhile, another Police Patrol car attached to Kalaki Central Police Station injured three policemen who had gone to arrest suspects of domestic violence within Kalaki town on Monday.
The officers are still nursing injuries at Soroti Regional Referral Hospital where they were rushed by another police truck.
However, an eyewitness in Katakwi alleges that the officers were seen drinking from Apeleun Trading Centre before they were called to pick the suspects.
