29 people who were arrested for flouting residential and ministry of health guidelines on COVID-19 in Kabale town, have been paraded before Courts of law and charged with doing an act likely to spread an infectious disease.

29 people who were arrested for flouting residential and ministry of health guidelines on COVID-19 in Kabale town, have been paraded before Courts of law and charged with doing an act likely to spread an infectious disease.

According to Kigezi regional police spokesperson Elly Maate, the suspects were found in bars, while others were arrested for moving past curfew time on 25th October 2021.

Those arrested include; Namanya Fortunate, Niwamanya Domiano, Arifunsi John Bosco, Mwesi Johnson, Ainomugisha Judith, Niwasasira Vaidah and Magezi Silver.

Other suspects are; Nsubuga Joseph, Nyerere Julius, Mwijuka James, Ngabirano Spencer, Ninsiima Doreen, Tukurire Agnes and Rwamafa Willian among others.

Maate says the suspects appeared before Kabale Grade One Magistrate His worship Isaac Rukundo and pleaded guilty to the charges. They were all cautioned and released.

He says the operations shall continue until people learn to respect the Presidential guidelines, adding that those who will be arrested must be prosecuted accordingly.
