The body of an 18-year-old boy who went missing from his parents’ home in Kagadi over the weekend, has been recovered.
Gerald Katusabe, a resident of Kyakadehe village in Pacwa town council in Kagadi district went missing from his parent’s home on Saturday and never returned home.
The family has been searching Katusabe with the help of police.
However, Julius Hakiza the Albertine region police spokesperson says Katusabe’s lifeless body was recovered lying in a pool of blood in a nearby bush in the same village on Sunday evening with deep cuts on the head and face, an indication that he could have been waylaid and hacked to death by unknown assailants.
Hakiza added that police rushed to the crime scene with a sniffer dog that later led detectives to the home of Mbabazi Alinaitwe, a resident of the same area who has been arrested to help with investigations.
The suspect is currently being detained at Kagadi central police station, while the deceased’s body was conveyed to Kagadi General hospital for postmortem.
