Three people, all members of the same family have been struck to death by lightning in Serere district.
Asp Ageca Oscar Gregory PRO East Kyoga identified the deceased as Abao Agnes 24, together with her two sons Otala Ivan 6yrs and Ogagul Elvis 3yrs, all residents of Ojomai village, Iruko Parish, Kadungulu sub-county in Serere district.
It is reported that on 25 March 2022 at around 7:00PM, a grass thatched house where the deceased persons were staying was struck by lightning and got burnt, leading to the loss of three lives.
Meanwhile, Ogagul Musa the husband to Abao and father to the deceased children survived the tragedy as he had gone to a nearby trading centre to drink.
The Police officers from Kadungulu police station visited and documented the scene.
Ageca advised the public to install lightning rods or lightning conductors to protect their homes from lightning strikes.
