Police of Kiruhura district are investigating a double homicide following a shooting by an SFC soldier.
The incident took place at Rugaga trading Centre Kikatsi sub-county, in Kiruhura district on Tuesday 5/4/2022.
According to ASP Kasasira Samson the PRO Rwizi, it is alleged that Private Nuwamanya Dickens a 27year old man attached to SFC Commando Brigade in Ruhegyere, shot his lover identified as Kamarembo Patience a bar operator in Rugaga trading centre thrice in the chest killing her instantly and later turned the gun, shooting himself in the head.
Police are yet to know the cause of the double homicide.
Kasasira says the bodies have been picked and conveyed to Kiruhura Health center IV for postmortem.
Police also recovered the murder weapon (SMG AK47) from the scene of the crime.
He added that investigations are on, to find out the cause of the double homicide.
