The leadership of the Uganda Medical Association (UMA), has condemned their president Dr. Samuel Oledo for kneeling before President Yoweri Museveni following salary increments for health workers.
The incident happened on Saturday last week at the Youth Patriotism Symposium where Oledo went on his knees praising the president for honoring part of his pledge to raise doctors' salaries.
Your Excellency, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, you have been the engine behind the improved welfare of health workers. Right now, the least paid health worker earns Shs.1.4 million from shs600,000,” — Oledo said
Oledo has since been called out by his colleagues for prostrating before the President. UMA released a statement on Sunday accusing their leader of playing partisan politics, before distancing itself from his remarks.
