The Leader of the Opposition, Hon. Mathias Mpuuga, has called for unconditional release of prisoners, including supporters of the National Unity Platform, who have been in custody for periods longer than the 48 hours prescribed by the Constitution.

Parliament has authorized Government to borrow up to US$325 million (Shs1.23 trillion) from the International Development Association of the World Bank, to finance the Uganda Climate Smart Agricultural Transformation Project.

Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has reported a significant increase in tax revenue from fish maw exports since the introduction of an eight percent export levy under the Fish (Amendment) Act 2021.
