President Yoweri Museveni has said, the government is doing everything and will continue to ensure all infrastructure is in place so that Uganda develops, however, the citizens must also do their part if they are to become wealthy.
The president made the statement during his rallies in Sssembabule and Bukomansimbi districts on Monday.
He crowned the day with a rally at Mawogola North in Sembabule District after three similarly big rallies and said he was very grateful to the supporters for turning up in big numbers.
However, the President says people should not expect him to come and tend to their pigs or plant their potatoes, but need to help themselves.
“I also urge the public to be vigilant and help us fight corruption especially at the lower levels of government, at the districts and sub-counties. Our NRM flagbearers at Gombolola level should take the lead in fighting corruption. They should, for example, ensure that the Naads funds are well used to benefit the people.”
Museveni says he will today, be campaigning in Bukomansimbi, Lyantonde and Lwengo districts before urging NRM supporters to turn up massively.

By Monday afternoon, the whole town had been painted blue, with boda boda riders made convoys around town rallying people to attend today’s rally. Amama Mbabazi of the Go Forward camp heads to Kibaale district, Independent candidate Prof. Baryamureeba Venansius is in Rukungiri, PDP’s Abed Bwanika campaigns in Buikwe and Buvuma districts, farmers party candidate Maj. Gen. Benon Biraaro heads to Busia, while Maureen Kyalya and Joseph Mabirizi will be in the districts of Yumbe, Koboko, and Kibuku.
