President Yoweri Museveni, the NRM presidential candidate is holding last hour campaign rallies in Eastern Uganda today, after spending the weekend rallying people of northern region into voting him.
Yesterday Museveni held his first rally at Arua Municipal Grounds, where he had previously held a rally about two months ago but returned to remind you of a few things.
Museveni said the NRM government has worked on roads, electricity, hospitals, education among others, and promises to embark on wealth creation.
According to the incumbent, to fight poverty, the NRM plans to prioritize 5 key wealth-creation funds crafted to help citizens including; The Agriculture Fund or NAADS will be increased from UGX203 billion to UGX1,000 billion, The Youth Fund will be boosted from UGX54 billion to UGX234 billion, The Microfinance Fund will be upped from UGX44 billion to UGX180 billion, the Innovation Fund will be boosted from UGX170 billion to UGX500 billion and the Women Fund will get UGX234 billion.
He also promised that benefiting from these funds will not require security.
“We are going to construct the Koboko- Moyo, and the Arua-Terego-Moyo roads. With prioritization we shall achieve all this. What is important is for Uganda to have a peaceful environment for all this to happen.”
