Forum for Democratic Change, FDC party presidential candidate Col. Dr. Kiiza Besigye is slowly making his way back to Kampala after a brief episode of his arrest by Police this afternoon.
Besigye was arrested on Jinja road as he tried to make way to Nasser road where he was slated to hold a short rally.
The police however argued that Besigye’s holding at police was no arrest and should not have caused any uproar. Students at Makerere University also became rowdy and defaced Museveni’s posters after learning about Besigye’s arrest.
The opposition iron man was taken to his Kasangati home, where he would later speak to the media and call for calm amongst the FDC supporters.
Besigye is today expected to hold short rallies at Kamwokya, Nasser road, Nakasero Market, Arua park, Kiseka market, Kagugube, Bukesa, Makerere University, Mini price, container village, Kafumbe Mukasa, and later, the main rally at Nabagereka primary school at 4:00PM.
