EC Chairman Dr. Badru Kigundu set to go into retirement after swearing the new leaders from the 2016 election scheduled to take place tomorrow 18th February.
Dr Kigundu has been chairman of the Electoral commission for three terms and has finally decided to hit the hay "I have served my 3 terms and that’s enough.”
“I am a law abiding citizen" He said during today’s press briefing at the commission head offices in Kampala.
Kigundu also told the press that the EC didn’t ban media from carrying mobile phones but for the case of voters, phones MUST be off or in silent mode at polling stations.
Dr Kiggundu says media will be allowed to film but not within cordoned off area of the polling station to keep ballot secret.
