Police spokesperson Fred Enanga says they are preventively holding Dr. Kiiza Besigye, (FDC) at Naggalama police post so as to curtail him for going on with an unlawful procession to the electoral commission head offices on Jinja road.
Addressing the media at police headquarters in Naguru, Kampala Enanga said that according to their intelligence, Besigye’s said procession was only a cover up for him to mobilize hooligans in town, “the Kasolo group, the B13, The Ki face group, there is a group in Kasokoso to descend onto the city.”
“This is part of the long running part of the defiance campaign against or in opposition to the authority, and the laws of this country.” Says Enanga.
He added; he has continuously vowed to lead a group of protesters and incite the country into an insurrection like you have seen in some of the Middle East countries.”
“After causing an insurrection in Kampala, they planned onto spreading these acts of political violence and civil disturbance to other municipalities so that the country will get on fire.”
Enanga also explains that the FDC party actions are encouraged by foreign backers whom he declined to mention.
