Parliament Director of Information Chris Obore says he is so angry that the journalism profession has been reduced to potato growing, with everyone today turning into a journalist.

Obore was this morning appearing on local TV NBS to comment on the decision by parliament to have only degree holding journalists for reporters.

He scoffed at journalists who are complaining and crying for being left out saying; “Improve yourself as a journalist. Passion is not enough. Don't cry.”

According to Obore, journalists set the agenda. “We shouldn't have less educated journalists setting the agenda on parliamentary matters.”

He explains that the decision to lock out journalists without degrees is aimed at improving reporting on Parliamentary matters, and many journalists insisting on covering Parliament are only seeking to "fraternize with the MPs to get transport."

“Parliament is complex & requires experience. All we are saying is, only those with knowledge & experience should cover Parliament,” Obore added.
