The ruling National Resistance movement, NRM has released a road map for the party primaries in new districts.
The roadmap was this morning released by NRM electoral commission chairman Dr. Odoi Tanga at their offices on Kyadondo road here in Kampala.
The new districts include Kagadi, Kakumiro created out of Kibaale, Rubanda district created out of Kabale and Omoro district curved out of Gulu district.
Woman MP for Kibaale Hon. Robinah Nabanja has decided to go represent the new district of Kakumiro, meaning elections have to be held in Kibaale to replace her. In other districts, they will elect woman MP, district chairpersons, and councilors.
Meanwhile, Dr. Tanga also called upon the national examination body, UNEB to do its work and verify people’s academic papers in a bid to avoid scenarios of people being kicked out of offices.
This comes at a time when UNEB and NRM EC are playing a blame game, with each institution blaming the other of failing to carefully scrutinize papers of a number of members of parliament who have since lost their seats.
Odoi warned “UNEB should do its mandate of verifying and certifying. Because NRM electoral commission is not an examining body to give exams. Therefore we don’t have academic history of any candidate to use for verification.”
All candidates vying for woman MP seat will pay 2 million shillings at the NRM electoral commission offices on kyadondo road.
