Kyadondo East MP and newbie in the 10th parliament Robert Kyagulanyi, alias Bobi Wine has become a pain in the bottom of his colleagues from the ruling NRM party, who he accuses of betrayal, and cowardice.
On Tuesday, members from the ruling party voted overwhelmingly to move the motion to amend article 102 (b) of the constitution allowing Presidents to rule beyond 75 years of age.
The legislators entrusted Igara East MP Raphael Magezi to move the motion today, but we have learnt that it has been differed to next week on Thursday, to allow the speaker of Parliament, who is apparently not around today, to preside over the sitting.
Now, rebel MPs, Wilfred Niwagaba, Muhammad Nsereko, Thodore Ssekikubo and Barnabas Tinkasiimire on Wednesday held a press conference and spit fire, promising to bring the house down, if the ruling party insists on tabling it.
The group has received support from other MPs including Betty Nambooze who also promised to do everything in her power, to ensure the bill does not pass.
But, while the other legislators are making all kinds of threats, Bobi Wine descended on his colleagues and called them all kinds of names.
He recorded a video that has since gone viral on social media educating his NRM counterparts, and called them out to have some shame and not sell their souls to the devil.
“You are traitor. You have betrayed our country and you have sold your conscience for cheap. History will judge you very harshly. You should remember that it is your children and your children’s children who will have to inherit this mess that you are creating” Bobi Wine wrote.
He asked them to reflect on what they did, remembering that there will be a time when they must account for what he called “this nonsense.”
