Barnabas Tinkasiimire, the Buyaga county Member of Parliament has revealed that he saw an Identity Card belonging to Special Forces, SFC at Parliament.
Speaking to the press at the CIID head offices in Kibuli this morning, Tinkasiimire said the officers that arrested his Kyadondo East counterpart Robert Kyagulanyi accidentally dropped their ID.
He would then rush and pick it, before being chased by the no nonsense officers. Tinkasiimire said at this point he panicked and threw away. He believes it was picked by an unknown person.
“In the process as there was a scuffle, I saw an Identity card of an SFC falling down. I said this was an opportunity for me to expose them; I grabbed it from the ground and tried to get out. I ran to where the press normally stays, I threw it somewhere I can’t remember where it went” Tinkasiimire narrated.
He adds that at this point, the SFC officers grabbed and strangled him, asking him to give them the ID. He would later threaten them that parliamentary cameras were watching.
According to the legislator, in the process of checking his pockets for the ID, the officers stole his money amounting to 420,000 from a bundle of 1,000,000 Shillings he had.
The angry legislator asked Museveni to pay the soldiers and stop using them for free gigs.
By publication time, Tinkasiimire had been allowed access to the CIID offices.
