According to an informant, Lukwago was intercepted at Wakaliga T- Junction, where he was arrested, while a journalist belonging to Delta TV was shot and injured by an officer.
The police had earlier cordoned off his home to stop the hard headed Lukwago from heading to the Electoral Commission head offices on Jinja road after the mayoral nomination exercise was halted. (Scroll Down to watch Video)
The Lord Mayor flop, who was kicked in the balls by councilors in 2013 claims he received no communication from the independent commission about the exercise being halted.
The development comes after proposed amendments in the KCCA Act to have councilors choose the mayor and not mass voting by Kampala residents.
However, Lukwago says this is targeting him as an individual. This morning, the Independent electoral commission communicated that nomination for Lord mayoral aspirants was halted until further notice.
