Drama ensued among members of the National Resistance Movement party on Tuesday, over the sharing of president Museveni campaign T-shirts at Nyakabande sub-county in Kisoro district leaving at least 15 people injured.
According to our reporter on ground, fighting begun when the supporters who were waiting for president Museveni like hungry dogs, failed to agree on how to share the 800 T-shirts, which were much fewer that the number of people present.
People would then round up a middle aged man who had been tasked with the responsibility of distributing the T-shirts before fighting broke out.
It took the intervention of the police to calm down the situation. John Wamuno the officer in charge of police operations in Kisoro, confirms the report but could not provide details of injuries.
The NRM supporters could have found a way of earning from campaigns considering the recent event that saw them being punished by Mbabazi security team, only to be awarded a flight in a chopper and 1,500,000shs.
