Former Bukedde TV presenter Omubi Masembe has spoken out on why he was fired from Vision Group’s Luganda station.

Masembe, who had worked at the station for over five years was sacked in late 2020 after he picked a membership card to confirm his allegiance to Bobi Wine’s NUP.

“I went to the station one day and the askari told me I couldn’t use the staff entrance. She had been notified not to let me in. She called two police officers who led me to Kabushenga who broke the news to me that I had been fired for joining NUP,” Masembe said in an interview

“They told me to denounce NUP through a press conference if I wanted to be pardoned. They gave me two weeks to think about it but still, I refused," he explained.

Masembe went on to run for political office as a KCCA councilor.
