A few days ago, a man who identified himself as Stanley came out to claim that he had been fleeced of his money by musician Sophie Nantogo.
Stanley revealed in an interview that he had given 10M to Sophie to help him a USA visa and a job there. He, however, didn’t get what he was promised. He accuses Sophie of obtaining money by false pretense.
Sophie acknowledges that she knows Stanley.
“I know him. Yes, he gave money to my company to help him go to America. He didn’t give us money to get him a job. We got some hiccups but that doesn’t mean we don’t know him,” she explains.
“We went to the police and we agreed from there to pay him if he wants a refund. We discussed a payment plan.”
