Sarah Kizito, a prominent businesswoman also known as Lady Charlotte due to her successful bridal parlour at Centenary Park in Kampala, made headlines a few days ago after she recently married a 36-year-old UK-based Ugandan man, who is 20 years her junior.
This news, along with the glamorous photos shared online, ended any speculation about her previous marriage to former boxer-turned-politician Godfrey Nyakana, whom she had been married to for over 10 years.
According to sources close to the couple, Nyakana and Kizito's relationship deteriorated after COVID-19 due to a series of irreconcilable differences, leading to their separation.
Kizito's new marriage did not come as a surprise to those who knew the couple. Before her marriage to Nyakana, she was married to a wealthy man in the USA for 14 years and had three children - Moses (Mo-Red), Arnold, and Charlotte.
Sources close to the couple have revealed that their split was caused by a dispute over property. Nyakana allegedly sold a plot of land in Wankoko, Kampala, without informing Sarah Kizito, which strained their once-solid business and personal relationship. This resulted in Nyakana leaving their marital home in Bugolobi and moving to Munyonyo in 2020.
