Events promoter and now Minister for Youths Balaam Barugahare has warned young people to steer clear of alcohol and drug abuse.
Balaam explained that youths are increasingly consuming all types of alcohol and abusing drugs, something that will shorten their lifespan.
He expressed concern that the country could lose its future generation if today's youth do not limit their alcohol consumption.
"My message to the youth is to reduce alcohol consumption. You are drinking a lot of alcohol, endangering your lives at an early age, and we could lose you," he partly said.
Balaam also warned young people against engaging in relationships with young girls and impregnating them at an early age.
"Stop falling in love with young girls. You are impregnating them at an early age. At 13, 15 years old, what is it that you are looking for?" he said while addressing mourners at Tamale Mirundi's burial ceremony in Kalisizo, Kyotera district.
