National Unity Platform President and musician Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, has spent years without staging a concert or performing for his fans.
The singer, who was barred from performing by the government, says he misses the stage and longs to return to his craft.
In an interview with a local television station, Bobi Wine stated that he is one of Uganda's most prominent musicians and should be allowed to exercise his fundamental rights.
"I miss performing for my fans. You all know I am one of the biggest musicians in the country and the most celebrated. I was stopped from performing and targeted by the government, but my fans miss me. Unfortunately, I am not allowed to perform. Even musicians who could stand with me to fight for my freedom to perform are instead focused on their personal gains and receiving handouts from the government," he explained.
Bobi Wine has been barred from holding music shows and concerts since 2018, following a directive from the government through the Uganda Police.
