Musician Catherine Kusasira, who had a close relationship with the late Muhammad Ssegirinya, has appealed to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to provide financial assistance to the fallen MP’s family during their time of hardship.
Kusasira expressed her willingness to personally deliver the condolence money to the family, emphasizing the importance of supporting those in need.
“The family is going through hard times, and as a father and leader, the President should extend a helping hand,” Kusasira said. “I am ready to take the money personally to them. You are a father and our leader, and we trust you to help those in need.”
Kusasira also addressed why she did not attend Ssegirinya’s burial, explaining that she feared being pelted with bottles by NUP supporters.
“I was unsettled because I had just come from a concert, but I also feared being attacked. I’ve learned my lessons and avoid places where I’m not wanted,” she explained.
