Australian Piotr Lagodzki has granted Umar Semata an opportunity to reclaim his World Kick Boxing intercontinental welter weight title by accepting a rematch.

Lagodzki who technically knocked out Semata in a rescheduled bout on Sunday at Lugogo Indoor stadium after the latter seemed to have lost consciousness heading into the fifth and final round.

“Umar (Semata) is a great fighter,” said Lagodzki. “Beating him in front of his fans was beautiful but if he wants a rematch, it’s granted back in Australia,” he added.

The Ugandan kick boxer lost in bizarre circumstances when he lost his sight as the bell rang to restart going into the final round and nearly punched one of his seconders and the referee before being held.

Semata speaks out

Semata spoke out after regaining his conscious and admitted he didn’t know what had happened to him.

He however revealed to Ugandans that it’s the nature of the sport; Muaythai fight.

It’s the nature of the sport; you win some and lose some. I was okay in all the four rounds. Going into the fifth round, I just saw my team holding me. I didn’t know what had happened to me. My team has asked for a rematch but Ugandans should know it’s the nature of the Muaythai fight.
