Uganda Cranes just put 3 nails in TOGO's coffin after embarrassing the West African football team in a 3-0 game at Nambole stadium.
All the 3 goals were scored in the first 45 minutes by Cranes captain Geofrey Massa ('5) and Vipers S.C's 19-yr-old Farouk Miya who scored twice. Uganda Cranes advance to the group stages of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers Russia on an aggregate of 4-0 having won their previous game in Lome, Togo with a score of 1-0.
The cranes played an attacking game with a formation of 4:3:2:1.
Outstanding Denis Onyango saved a couple of heavy shot from the Togolese players to deprive the visiting team of a chance to shake the net. By keeping a clean sheet, the South Africa-based goalkeeper ensured Uganda did not concede a goal in a home and away World Cup qualifier.
Uganda could have easily won the game with more goals but attempts by Brian Umony and Kizito Baba were foiled by the woodwork and Joseph Ochaya, Moses Oloya, Tony Mawejje and Geofrey Massa wasted good chances.
Lacklustre Togo sorely missed unavailable star striker Emmanuel Adebayor, who was not available for the game.
Gor Mahia defensive midfielder Khalid Aucho got a serious knock in the first half and was replace by Kizito Baba who plays for Vietnamese club Than Quảng Ninh.
Uganda cranes generally dominated the game with the advantage of their 12th man, the home fans, who were singing praises adding a little bit of pressure to the visiting team.
