The Uganda National Roads Authority and the Uganda Road Fund have been dissolved and their functions returned to the Ministry of Works and Transport.

Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa has tasked the leadership at Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) to explained the delays in the completion of Mpigi-Busega Expressway.

This action comes in response to a significant increase in water levels in the River Katonga, resulting in the submersion of a section of the highway and the bridge.
