Uganda National Roads Authority, UNRA has closed its Jinja offices located on Nile Crescent Road, following confirmation of COVID-19 cases.

According to a notice from UNRA, two staff members tested positive for COVID-19, out of 107 samples tested on Wednesday 26th August 2020.

“Subsequently, the offices are temporarily closed from today August 31, 2020 to Thursday 3rd September 2020 to facilitate contact tracing exercise and allow sufficient safety precautions which include; disinfection of the premises” the statement indicates. 

The UNRA management took a decision to test all staff as a proactive measure starting on 19th August 2020 to detect and prevent the spread of the virus and offer adequate support to staff in a timely manner.

They appealed to all clients and general public to continue practicing the SOPs as advised by the Health ministry on COVID-19 and pledged support and cooperation in regard to COVID-19.
