She’s always prided herself on her flawless vocal abilities, so when Mariah Carey failed to hit many of her notes while performing in Japan on Saturday (October 4), fans were a bit troubled.
The “We Belong Together” singer kicked off her Elusive Chanteuse World Tour in Tokyo and after the gig a slew of spectators took to Twitter to express their dismay over her lackluster singing.
It's a wrap for Mariah Carey's singing career. You're a legend. Time to retire. She can't sing anymore. At all. What happened?”--- One fan wrote, “
“Y'all. Mariah Carey really can't sing anymore. That was hard to listen to. I see why Mariah Carey never sings live anymore. That's why. Mariah Carey should've bowed out right when her voice was giving out. Save herself the embarrassment. I knew it was something wrong with MC though. No artist lip syncs at EVERY show.” --Another attendee tweeted.
Perhaps Carey’s singing snafu is the direct result of her divorce from Nick Cannon, as they announced earlier this year that they’d decided to split up.
