Makerere University Council has approved a decision by Senate to increase graduation fees from Shs90,000 to Shs220,000 for all undergraduates starting this academic year. This indicates an increment of Shs130,000.
The university Vice Chancellor said this is based on the increasing costs in procuring materials including printing of certificates and transcripts from the UK with specific symbols to avoid forgery and this costs us a lot.
Students, parents and the others concern have said this is unfair and its causing anxiety. They claim the increase is abrupt and too expensive.
Clearly these people don't understand anything, seriously 130,000 increment, not like 50,000 ---- what has the price of a single paper increased by 130,000, o this just another way o stealing money and corruption within the senate of Makerere, seriously HE Yoweri Kaguta Museveni should do something.
