A man charged with murder has confessed to killing his lover but said he had reasons for doing so.
Mr Geoffrey Wanjala Wechule, 38, for a second time, told a packed courtroom that he killed Ms Jane Kadogo Mutiso on October 20, but added that the woman had “groped his private parts”.
The suspect surrendered to the authorities on October 20 at the Muthangari police station where he reported to have killed and dismembered his lover.
Police on visiting the scene at the house he rented in Kawangware’s Gatina area found a decapitated head stashed in a basket.
They also collected a female body with a slit abdomen which was found on a blood-soaked sheet on the floor with missing internal organs.
The man had to be tested at Mathari hospital for mental illness, the doctors declared him mentally fit. Two weeks earlier, the man shocked the courtroom pleading guilty to the charges despite being informed on the penalty.
His lawyer asked for more time to consult his client, requesting for a mental test to be conducted over the suspect.
