Nankabirwa was pronounced dead at the AghaKhan hospital in Nairobi, Kenya where she had been transferred for further treatment -- reports from NTV confirmed.

“Rosemary Nankabirwa has been pulled off life support. Her family has confirmed that she has passed on. May her soul rest in peace.”

Reports that NTV's pioneer anchor had passed on appeared first on Xclusive.co.ug ... but were denied by NTV which instead asked people to pray for her. The post on NTV's facebook page read:

“Rosemary is in critical condition and we ask that you keep her in your prayers. We'll keep you posted about her state.”

NTV on Saturday spearheaded a fundraising drive dubbed #SaveRosemary to raise money for specialised treatment for Ms Nankabirwa. Over 110 Million Ugandan shillings was reportedly contributed.

May her soul rest in eternal peace.
