Royal Essence, one of Uganda’s leading model agencies, will host its debut 2016 fashion show dubbed “Sands and Colors” at Spennah Beach Entebbe on Saturday to showcase the latest fashion trend with support.
Flosha Mukashaka, CEO of Royal Essence, while announcing the event details, said her team will showcase the trends that rocked January and also give a glimpse into the trends set to rock the country in 2016.
“We are very excited about the upcoming event, especially because it is the first edition for 2016. As models, we shall showcase some of the trends that rocked January and also share hints of what we expect to rock the fashion scene throughout the rest of the year,” she said, adding that; “In addition to the fashion show, we will have beach games between models and revelers from morning to 2pm, followed by a 4 hours audition session for 50 models to join the NTV "Runway Heat" show cast that we recently signed up with and the judges will include Keith Karuhuura, Joram Muzira and Brenda Nanyonjo of Miss Uganda.”
In line with this new development, Mirinda has announced a shs50 million sponsorship package for Royal Essence as the main sponsor, to cater for all the Royal Essence shows that will take place every last Saturday of the month at Spennah beach Entebbe throughout the year.
According to Timothy Luzinda, the Mirinda Brand Manager, the fashion shows bring to life Mirinda’s brand’s DNA and thematic “Free Your Funside” and provide an interactive platform for the brand with its fans.
“The Royal Essence shows are truly a reflection of the brand Mirinda. As Mirinda, we love color, we love to have fun and we live to grow talent across the country among other things. The Sands and Color show, which will double as an audition platform, gives us the opportunity to have our fans interact with the brand as they express themselves freely. We are proud of what the Royal Essence team has so far accomplished in the fashion industry and we are excited to be part of their journey in Uganda’s fashion industry.”
In addition to its investment in the Royal Essence fashion shows, Mirinda has invested in the annual Mirinda Miss Teen search and Miss Uganda to further grow the fashion industry in Uganda.
Gates to the event will open at 10:00am at a fee of shs5.000sh that comes with a free Mirinda and fans will be entertained by performances from various dancers and Dj Mercy. The models will thereafter be treated to an after party at Club X5 in Entebbe to celebrate this new milestone.
