At 23, Cecilia Ogwal won the first Miss Uganda held in 1969 at the Apollo Milton Hotel (current Sheraton). She was then a Bachelor of Commerce finalist at the East African University in Nairobi.
On Saturday night she made a surprise appearance at the Miss Uganda event where Leah Kagasa beat all to the Miss Uganda 2016/17 beauty crown.
