The family of Gen. Caleb Kandwanaho alias Salim Saleh has been in the news following rumors of his death. But on Saturday, he appeared before his guests at the giveaway ceremony of his daughter, Esteeri Mugulwa in Buziga, a Kampala suburb.

We bring you the reason why Salim’s daughter, Esteri Mugulwa left her first husband.
Mugulwa and ex-husband Eng. Ronald Ndizeye Sekaziga got married in 2009 and separated in 2017 but shares custody of their three children.
On February 11, 2020, Esteeri through her lawyers of Kashillingi Rugaba Associates, asked the Nakawa Chief Magistrate’s court to have her former husband’s mental status checked by a professional.

“In the circumstances, we humbly seek that the matter is fixed and Your Worship proceeds to have the Respondent (Ndizeye) undergo a mental psychological evaluation by a professional,” part of the letter reads.
She had also requested the court to grant her sole custody of the children, a request court rejected and asked the couple to mediate.
“We had intimated to court that there was a renewed mediation effort. However, we regret to inform the court that mediation failed at the insistence of the respondent. Instead, our client (Mugulwa) has observed disturbing trends with the respondent’s visits to the children’s school with strangers,” she says through her lawyers.
Mugulwa’s motivation to divorce was her suspicion that her ex-husband had lost his mental strength and their lives were in danger.
