Roger Mugisha is a well-known figure in Ugandan entertainment circles, having spent over twenty years in radio and actively engaging in talent management.
With an extensive understanding of Ugandan music, Mugisha holds the belief that Peter Ssematimba, a veteran radio host turned politician, hasn't received the recognition he deserves.
Mugisha contends that Ssematimba deserves credit for popularizing pop culture in Uganda and for playing a significant role in diminishing the influence of Congolese music in the country.
"While people talk about the music industry, not enough acknowledgment is given to the impact that man had. Peter Ssematimba should receive credit for pioneering pop culture's influence. He established its initial foundation here when Congolese and band music were predominant," Mugisha expressed during an interview with Urban Television.
