The Catholic Church in Uganda is mourning his Grace Barnabas Harim'imana, the Bishop Emeritus of Kabale Diocese who died at Nsambya hospital on Sunday afternoon where he was admitted two months ago with kidney complications.

According to Reverend Father Bruno Serunkuma, the Kabale Diocesan Pastoral Coordinator's statement this morning, they will hold a meeting at Rushoroza Cathedral today to decide on the funeral arrangements.

Right Reverend Callistus Rubaramira, the Bishop Kabale Diocese says the death of Bishop Harim'imana is a big blow to the Diocese and unfortunate that the diocese has lost two former Bishops in a space of two months.

The death comes barely two months after the death of the first Bishop of Kabale Diocese, Placidus Gervasius Nkalanga, a Tanzania national. Bishop Harim'imana was born in Kisoro district in 1929.

Reverend Father George Bazemenyera of Mutolere Deanary says the late Bishop was a great preacher and a peace lover.
