Sandra Nakungu and Ashraf Jadeni, the two people who were Wednesday convicted of the murder of tycoon Eria Bugembe Ssebunya, alias Kasiwukira have appealed their sentences.
The duo was sentenced to 20 years in jail each by High Court Judge Justice Wilson Masalu Musene who in turn acquitted the late Kasiwukira’s widow Sarah Nabikolo.
The tycoon was killed by a speeding car on the morning of October 17th 2014 in Muyenga Diplomatic Zone while jogging.
Today, the convicts through their lawyer Ladislaus Rwakafuzi, today rushed to Court of Appeal where they filed a notice of motion of appeal challenging their conviction.
The duo is challenging their conviction based on the fact that the widow Nabikolo, who was indicted on the same file case was set free.
